Do I Really Need A Permit?
Any time you modify your home's plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, or make structural changes, you will need a permit. Skipping a permit when needed can have some undesirable consequences including but not limitted to denial of coverage from your homeowner's insurance if a damage to your property was caused by a faulty structural, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work that was not permitted or inspected.
